Dr. Miller is a Clinical Site Supervisor for Jacksonville University’s Comprehensive Oral Implantology Program and oversees his residents at our Hillsboro Or location. Dr. Miller graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry (OHSU) dental school and became a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) in 1981 and  he earned  his Fellowship in 1989 and Master in 2005. He has been a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) since 2008 and is an AAID Honored Fellow. Dr. Miller received board certification with the title Diplomat of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry in 2014 and serves on AAID’s Ethics and Nominating committees.

Dr. Miller  has taught dental implant dentistry in the Oregon Dental Implant Continuum residency course as well as connective tissue grafting courses for the Oregon AGD before becoming a Clinical Director/Clinical Site Supervisor for Jacksonville University’s Comprehensive Oral Implantology Program. Dr. Miller has been instrumental in Oregon recognizing Implant Dentistry as a dental speciality due to the high surgical and restorative skills needed in implant dentistry. Dr. Miller has worked behind the scenes for many years for the United States to implement a university level  dental implant program in the United States and was influential in the development of Jacksonville University’s CORIF program. He holds a strong desire to teach the next generation of dentists the complex surgical and restorative skills needed for implant dentistry. Dr. Miller believes his lifelong commitment to “hands on” continuing education has enabled him to provide outstanding care for his patients which he passes along to all implant residency students.

Dr. Miller is known as the Dentist’s Dentist because of his passion for delivering high-quality dental care to his patients. His skills in I.V. sedation, dental implants, bone and connective tissue grafting,cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation have made him Portland’s Choice for choice for complete dental implant care and restoration .

Dr. Miller is married to Laurie M. Hesla DMD, FAGD, retired from private practice. They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. In his spare time Dr. Miller enjoys fishing, bird watching, and taking care of his blueberry farm.
